More Information

A Galway native, I was born and bred in the village of Barna, where I now still live and run my coaching business. I have always been passionate about education and its transformational effect on a person’s life.

I was greatly influenced by my own parents who had a great love of learning and understood the value of an education.

My Journey To Coaching

Following a career that spanned 37 years as an educator in Salerno Secondary School, Galway city, and serving 12 years as Deputy Principal, I took early retirement. My natural instincts and desire to help others led me to complete an Executive and Life Coaching Diploma. I now work as a life coach, with both individuals and groups, having a particular interest in assisting parents and teens navigate many of the challenges that modern day life presents.

Life Experience

My unique skill set has been shaped not only by my wealth of experience as an educator, but also by the traumatic life experience of losing my brother, Eugene, in a drowning accident when he was only 20 years old. This personal loss at a very young age served as a huge wake-up call for me. It gave me a deep understanding of the fragility of life and the importance of embracing it fully every day.

Coaching Philosophy

The question posed by poet, Mary Oliver is at the very heart of the work that I do, facilitating people as they get in touch with their own authentic selves and find meaning in their lives.

“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

Setting

Having raised a family of my own, I have a natural empathy for those who are struggling and their desire to do the best they can in life, both for themselves and their children. From my time spent as deputy principal and having an open-door policy for all students, I have seen first-hand the positive impact it has when people are given space to express their hopes and concerns in a confidential, non-judgemental environment. With this in mind I put a strong emphasis on providing a safe space that is both nurturing and supportive, in a beautiful tranquil setting, overlooking Galway bay.
